Ceramic Insulating Ring

Used in the polysilicon reduction furance. At present the polysilicon reduction furance use silicon core breakdown starting.  Silicon core electrode mainly include an electrode, heated graphite silicon core and electrode holder. An insulating ring is used for insulation between the electrode and the electrode holder.


Because the temperature in the reduction furnace is very high, the ceramic insulating ring needs sufficient mechanical strength under long-term high temperature operation. After long-term high temperature and pressure operation, the ceramic insulating ring is prone to to failure and cause electrical breakdown, resulting in production accidents.


Most of the insulating rings currently used are alumina ceramic. Due to the performance limitations of alumina ceramic, their service life is very short, which brings great inconvenience to production and directly affects production efficiency.


Silicon nitride is a kind of ceramic material with high temperature resistance and high insulation. Silicon nitride insulating rings, silicon nitride heat shields, silicon nitride insulating sleeves by gas pressure sintering, have the characteristics of good insulation, good toughness, high temperature resistance, high strength and thermal shock resistance. 


The service life of ceramic insulating rings made from silicon nitride is 10 times longer than the similar products of alumina ceramic, the production cost is largely reduced, the operation time is saved and the labor intensity is reduced accordingly.
